I agree, I went through this reflection a couple of weeks ago and I got to the same conclusion. I have had some good ideas in the past that I haven’t build because I just forgot of them.

I think it’s not only important to have the initiative to start something, but also to follow it through and see the end result.

Using the swamp/ wildflower example, I think it would be important to go back and see if there were actually any flowers that grew. Otherwise what would be the point? It’s similar to that whole “If a tree falls in the forest…” conundrum.

I guess the question is does everyone need to be a dreamer? I think it’s important to have dreamers/visionaries/philosophers, but it’s also important to have a mix of personalities. If we were all dreamers perhaps nothing would get done. On the other hand without dreamers would we ever progress as a society?

Inspiration is difficult when you’re struggling with mundane concerns. We tend to get sucked into the minutia of our lives only to wake up years later wondering what happened.

I find most of the time it comes down to the idea being beyond my scope and resources, so I write it down and store it for the day when I might have the ability to execute it.
